Wind energy

In the UK we have 40% of Europe's total wind energy. But it's still largely untapped and only 0.5% of our electricity requirements are currently generated by wind power.

Our wind turbines vary in size and power output from a 1KW to a 15KW wind turbine depending on your requirements.

Can you have a wind turbine?

Wind turbines are suitable in areas of an average wind speed of above 5m/s. A wind turbine works more efficiently when there is no or little obstruction between the turbine and the prevailing wind. In most circumstances it is recommended that the building that requires the power has land attached to it which has a good prevailing wind.

What can turbines be used for?

You can use a wind turbine for a number of uses. A wind turbine is basically a generator which with the aid of the wind generates electricity. This electricity can then be used to provide supplementary power to a building and with certain wind turbines even generate enough power to provide all the electric to a 3 bedroom house and even enough to sell back to the electricity supplier.

Why do you require a wind turbine?

"To provide some supplementary power to a building or home, this is so I can reduce my electricity bill and help reduce my carbon emissions."

We recommend the 1kw or 2.5kw wind turbine. These turbines can provide enough power to significantly reduce your electricity bill and even if the average wind speed is high enough (within your area) the 2.5kw wind turbine could reduce your electricity bill to nothing.

"To provide all the power to a building/home, enough to sell back to the electricity supplier and help reduce my carbon emissions."

We recommend the 6kw wind turbine. This turbine can produce enough electricity to power a 3/4 bedroom house and enough to sell back to the electricity supplier. This turbine is also recommended for most commercial and industrial uses.

"To provide power to a commercial/ industrial building."

We recommend the 15kw wind turbine. This turbine has enough power to provide all the power to 2/3 small buildings (dependant on use).
